How Do I Register for a Course?

If you want to take a MedRisk® OnLine Course, you will need to enroll for the course.

Once you know what course(s) you’d like to take, click on the register link if you are a first time user or log in if a returning user. Select the course(s) of your choice. Once you make payment via a credit card on the secure website you will have immediate access to your course(s).

How Do I Pay for My Course?

MedRisk accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express. If you enroll on-line with our secure server, you may immediately access your course upon approval of your card information.

Is My Credit Card Information Secure?

Yes, your credit card information is secure. Medical Risk Management’s secure server will insure your registration information is safe. You may also click the link to our Privacy Statement for more information.


If you forget your password, just click the link under the log-in box. You may also change your password at any time by clicking the link to “edit profile” located on the blue bar at the top of the page after you have logged in. We recommend you use your same username and password each time you enroll in a course to keep your history together. We cannot combine accounts once more than one has been created.

Can I Switch from the Online Version to the Hardcopy?

All registrations are final after fourteen days. After that time, we will be unable to switch you over to hard copy or refund your registration fee. If you contact us to switch from online to hardcopy there will be an additional fee of $40 (cost for hardcopy)

How Do I Adjust Font Size in the Course?

The font size of each page may be adjusted by using the font feature of your browser.

Why Was My Credit Card Rejected?

Your credit card may be rejected for a variety of reasons. Do not use spaces or punctuation marks when entering your credit card number.

Occasionally, there may be heavy traffic on the Internet or a routing problem between your computer and the credit card verification system.

Sometimes, you may have to try another credit card. There may be issues between you and the verification center which MedRisk® cannot control. In these situations we recommend you contact the card issuer directly.

Does My Course Carry Category 1 CME Credit?

Yes, your course does have Category 1 credit.

Medical Risk Management, Inc. is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing education for physicians.

Medical Risk Management designates these enduring materials for the designated number of AMA PRA Category 1 creditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

These CME activities have been planned and developed in accordance with the ACCME Essentials and Standards for Enduring Materials.

I am not a physician. Will I receive CE credit for completing my course?

Certain Medrisk courses carry nursing CE credit through an arrangement with our co-provider, CorExcel. Dental courses carry AGD credit through our co-provider, The Medical Protective Company. If you are not insured by Medical Protective there is an additional fee of $20 for AGD credit.

Members of other professions (osteopaths, chiropractors, optometrists, etc.) will not earn CE credit specific to their professions, but will receive a certificate stating that they satisfactorily completed a course designated for category 1 AMA PRA credit. Some professional associations will accept such certificates and allow members to apply for commensurate credit within the association.

How Do I Print My Course?

Courses may be printed for personal reference, but you will need to do so before submitting your course test. To print, click on the printer icon located at the top right corner of each module.

Please note: Once you submit your test answers you will not be able to access the program.

If you would like to print the course or any part of the course for your records you must do so before submitting your test.

If you would like to purchase a PDF file of the entire course for future reference this is available for a fee of $15 payable by MasterCard or Visa.

How Do I Complete My Course?

Available programs can be found on the on the CME Home page. To enroll, a first time user completes a simple registration form and submits it electronically to MedRisk®. Upon satisfactory completion of the registration process, you will be able to enroll your course. Registering and submitting payment by credit card will give you immediate access to your course.

Each module has a test at the end. After you have submitted your responses to those questions, you will automatically be taken to the next module. You will only be able to access those modules you have completed. Your answers are saved in a database on the MedRisk® server. You may change your answers at any time for the modules you have completed. At the end of the course, you will be directed to a page for final submission of your test responses. Your test is immediately scored. If you have obtained a score of 80%, you will find a printable certificate of completion. You may return at any time, log in, and will find a button that will allow you to print your certificate again. If you do not receive a passing score, you will be given a list of questions that were answered incorrectly and the system will automatically reactivate the course two more times.

How Do I Submit My Test for CME Credit?

All courses include a test at the end of each module. Indicate your choice of answers for each question using the buttons. Only one answer per question can be selected. Once a module’s questions are answered, a user can advance to the next module.

Once all the modules have been completed, the user can review and then electronically submit all the answers to MedRisk® by using the “Submit” button at the end of the evaluation questions. Please do not hit the “enter” key or “submit” button until you are certain you have completed your test. You will not be able to access the course content once you successfully completed the course.

If you achieve a passing score, a certificate of completion will be available to print online, or users may request that the certificate be emailed to the address specified at registration. You must complete the questionnaire at the end of the post-test before credit can be awarded.

How Will My Test be Scored?

The questions included in this course are designed to assess your understanding of the course content. At the end of each module there will be a test section of questions that users are required to answer before moving on to the next module. The tests will not be graded until you submit all your answers at the end of the course, after being given an opportunity to review your answers. A level of accuracy meeting or exceeding 80 percent for the entire course will earn you up to designated number of credits in Category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Users failing to pass the course will get two additional attempts to take the course free of charge.

Your test form will be electronically scored and the results immediately posted in your browser window. If you have questions regarding your test, or wish clarification of a test item, please use the question form to email MedRisk®.

What Is A Passing Score?

You must achieve a score of 80% to successfully complete your course. As explained above, you are able to return to the questions you missed, make another choice, and re-submit your responses.

How Will I Receive My Certificate of Completion?

If you achieve a passing score, a certificate of completion will be available to print online, or users may request that the certificate be emailed to the address specified during registration. You must complete the evaluation questionnaire at the end of the post-test before credit can be awarded.

Will My Insurer be Notified?

If your insurer is one of our clients, your insurer will be notified of your successful course completion. A list of our client insurers is found in the drop-down insurer box on the registration page.
